Chapter 277   – “How long is Aunty Yan going to hibernate for?” (3)

When it came to faking, Yan Shuyu was at most a newbie at it. The boss, on the other hand, was the grand master. He could return to his ascetic self in zero second flat though the sparks and fireworks from the kiss just a moment ago never happened. Straightening himself out, he said to her, “Eat slowly. I told aunty to come pick up the bowls and utensils in half an hour.”

The boss was still very attentive after all. Yan Shuyu waved at him, gesturing to him that she got it and that he could go.

But, before the boss took off, they heard a familiar knocking sound.

The knocking was very unique in that it was made from a few little hands at the same time. The knocking sound wasn’t very sound but was definitely very lively.

Sure enough, the little kiddos’ voices came from outside of the door, “Mommy/Aunty Yan—”

Yan Shuyu responded to them, “C’mon in.”

The little kiddos bounced inside and went straight over to her. Zhang Yuanbao gave her a very enthusiastic hug and said, “I am going to class now. Bye, Mommy.”

As though they were standing in line, little Zhou Yi, after seeing that his little buddy was done hugging Aunty Yan, also threw himself into her arms as he said to her, “Aunty Yan, I am going to my class too. Byee.”

Looking at him with her eyes bright, Yan Shuyu thought to herself: Darling, your little big brother Yuanbao is leaving home to go to a class. Your class is right here at home. Is it really necessary to say goodbye to me?

She was, however, able to stop herself from saying that out loud. Like a mature elder, she stroked both of them on their heads and said to them, “Okay. Alright. Study hard.”And the boss left with one boy in each hand. Yan Shuyu quickly finished her breakfast, placed her dishes in the little living room area outside and happily crawled back into bed to play on her cellphone.

With Yan Shuyu’s hard work, she finally got paid at her new job. She had made a shocking total of 40,000 yuan in the first month!

Even though that included her previous 20,000-yuan bonus, it was still an amount that well exceeded her expectation.

She never expected that she would, one day, become a high-earning person herself. She felt that, at this current rate, she wouldn’t even need to wait for her son to get rich and benefit from him. She could become a rich woman and keep little fresh meats all on her own. With her current class load, her income would at least be doubled on the next payday.

Yan Shuyu wasn’t one who was good with planning. With her financial pressure being lifted, she immediately tried to come up with ideas to spend this “large sum” that had just come into her possession.

She had initially thought about buying a more presentable gift for the boss but she was more hesitant about that idea now. It wasn’t so much that she was being frugal but that she knew whatever amount she could spend on the boss would not remotely measure up to what he had spend on her and her son.

Came to think about it, it had already been a month into the winter vacation and all other kids were probably fully enjoying themselves but her son’s schedule was even more packed during his winter vacation, having both academic and piano classes lined up every day from morning till night. And still have homework on the weekends. She felt bad for him just thinking about it.

It would be New Year in another two weeks so Yan Shuyu thought about taking him on a vacation with her new-found wealth. With this amount, they could afford to head to one of the tropical islands for a few days.

Then she thought about it some more. She couldn’t possibly just bring her so along; she would need to take the little young master along as well, in the name of being fair.

She had totally learned that from the boss. When they had first moved in together, Yan Shuyu was still a little worried that the boss would behave like how it was described in the novel – play the game of praising one while knocking down on the other so make the two boys more competition in order to achieve his goal of nurturing his son.

Truth was, she had overthought it. The boss was much better than her when it came to raising the two boys. He had always been fair to the both of them and never favored one over the other. She was the one who’d occasionally favor one of them – not that she did it on purpose, but more that she wasn’t one who’d pay close attention to details and would sometimes overlook certain facts.
