Chapter 36

The production team's interviews were conducted in chronological order, with Song Jixing scheduled 7th for the interviews, which meant she went later and hence relatively late.

The interviews this time were held in the conference room on the top floor.

Ever since Song Jixing had been able to gather spiritual energy, she had weakened her five senses to reduce the noisy sounds she heard, and all kinds of gossip and petty news had lessened greatly.

At nine twelve on the dot, the staff finally knocked on Song Jixing's door.

The interview this time was simple, just talking about her first impressions upon arriving on the island, and her thoughts on the other cast members.

"The island's not bad, bigger than I imagined! The other cast seem alright, very friendly."

Song Jixing's answers were simple and to the point.

Although the staffer felt somewhat helpless sitting opposite the camera, they were already used to situations like this. When the cast members didn't say much themselves, they had to rely on asking them questions one by one to elicit responses.

"Dislikes? None! I quite like everyone."

"Who do I think will do well? What aspect are we talking about...I feel that since everyone was invited here by the production team, everyone has unlimited potential."

"If you insist I name a favorite, I can't..." Could she name someone on the island?"

"I quite like the chef who's cooking onion oil in the kitchen! That onion oil is very aromatic when you eat it!"

After more in-depth questioning by the staffer, they finally managed to elicit some usable material, however forced, from Song Jixing. After a little editing it could pass off.

And so they released Song Jixing to go back downstairs to sleep.

Back in her room, Song Jixing casually covered up the surveillance camera and sat down cross-legged on her bed to meditate.

After spending hundreds of years in the spiritual cultivation world, she was used to the closed-door meditation lifestyle.

As for why she was still meditating after transmigrating back here, it was mainly because circulating spiritual energy within her body after absorption felt more comfortable than lying down to sleep. Hence Song Jixing simply opted to meditate while sitting.

She was a soul who had transmigrated back, with her physical body having exploded once before.

Compared to her martial senior brothers and sisters who had been tempering themselves for hundreds of years, her current mortal fleshly body was still that of an ordinary person. After transmigrating back, she clearly sensed that her current body was about the same as the one she had in the spiritual cultivation world.

But this was clearly the body she had before she transmigrated!

Could spiritual cultivation directly enhance one's physique? Internal enhancement leads to automatic external configuration.

Song Jixing wasn't very clear about the exact correlation, but it must have something to do with the divine cauldron.

As for the cauldron's secrets, Song Jixing was completely clueless.

With so many capable experts in her sect, someone was bound to know more. She could find out more after they transmigrated over.

For now, she would focus on working hard!

-

Early next morning, Song Jixing got up punctually from bed. After washing up and having a simple breakfast, she arrived at the designated location according to the production team's instructions.

Most of the cast members who had come to participate in the show this time had changed into sportswear, donning sunglasses, looking vigorous and raring to go.

They greeted each other upon seeing one another.

"Morning, good morning!"

"Good morning!"

"Hello, hello!"

The two veterans Qiu Ye and Han Yusheng arrived slightly later, jogging over breathlessly from the nearby woods. Their necks and foreheads were still drenched in sweat.

Song Xiang took the initiative to greet them, "Were you two out jogging earlier?"

Qiu Ye took out a towel from his backpack to wipe his neck. "Yes, we went out to have a look since the scenery around here seemed nice, and did some morning exercise along the way."

"Great, very healthy!"

With two senior cast members on the survival show, Song Xiang's thoughts were simple - since there were two seniors, they would surely fall behind in certain areas, such as stamina, compared to the rest.

Since they already had the habit of going jogging in the mornings, it showed that their fitness levels were still alright.

Of course, in Song Xiang's opinion, the one with the best stamina out of all of them was still Song Jixing! After returning to his room last night, he had gone to search for information about Song Jixing online, as mentioned by Sang Xueqing.

The majority online were discussing how Song Jixing was capable of breaking the marathon world record, with numerous videos even. Regarding why she hadn't done so, Song Jixing explained in an interview before.

She said her main job wasn't as a professional athlete. Her ability to run so quickly was mainly due to some special innate talent. It wouldn't be fair to athletes who train hard and shed sweat and tears out on the field if she participated in competitions. Hence she would neither attempt to certify any world records, nor take part in professional competitions. She would consider some amateur competitions though.

Such an arrogant attitude was undoubtedly provocative!

Without Song Jixing proving herself, there would definitely have been many doubters. Of course, even now there were still people questioning her, as well as others arguing about it.

Song Xiang was rather envious of her ability to garner such attention, yet he believed in Song Jixing.

That very heavy luggage belonging to Zhu Chongguang that two people couldn't even shift, Song Jixing had lifted it up effortlessly. That couldn't have been acting!

After all seven cast members had arrived, some staff members from the production team came forward carrying several huge cardboard boxes.

Numbers from 1 to 8 were marked on the cardboard boxes.

These were the props the production team had prepared for them.

Everyone went forward eagerly and curiously to open these cardboard boxes, discovering all sorts of tools inside.

"Wow, look at this! It's... rope? Hammer?" Hu Hui opened his box exaggeratingly, dumbfounded at the sight of the contents within.

Song Xiang opened his box to find two pots within, a small fruit knife, and a box of salt.

The rest discovered boxes containing a chainsaw, fishing rod, wood-chopping blade, paper and pens.

The paper and pens went to Han Yusheng. He took out his assigned props, smiling bemusedly, "What are these for? Are they asking me to hold onto these and write about them doing physical labor instead, drawing for them? But I can't draw!"

Song Jixing was assigned a firewood chopping blade and straw basket, while Sang Xueqing received a chainsaw.

The discrepancy between their allocations was rather huge...

At that moment, the island speaker sounded again.

【Please bring your tools with you to gather at the assigned location to begin your first day's tasks!】

"Where's the task location?" Zhu Chongguang was still clueless. He had received a fishing rod and some bait.

"Why aren't there any other instructions?"

"Perhaps they're in the remaining box?" Qiu Ye looked towards that last cardboard box labeled 6.

Song Jixing fixed her gaze on Han Yusheng's props.

The different items they each received represented the different roles they would play, and the tools they would use. She herself was probably a laborer to chop firewood, while Han Yusheng seemed to be in charge of brains and planning, holding pen and paper.

Just as expected, after Han Yusheng finished taking stock of what he had, he discovered a map hidden inside. "Oh! Found it, there's a map here!"
